Tres Bocas in Tigre and a fond farewell.....

Paula and I took the one hour train ride to Tigre and then a water taxi to the Tres Boca area.....I had been here before on a day trip and thought it would be a good place to stay....a little community with path ways and bridges....sure enough, while we were standing on this bridge taking this picture, a local directed us to a place that had cabins for rent....

and here is the cabin we rented!

Kitchen, living room, bedroom, patio with barbe.....all for less than 40 bucks a night!

The owner and her son have two cabins for rent and lots and lots of bees.....

the bee hives, like all the cabins in the delta are up on stilts due to flooding in the winter...

Here is a typical older house in the delta....

It felt so different from Buenos Aires, and only an hour away...

The owner of our cabin introduced us to her neighbor, who has lived in the Delta for years.  He took us for a boat ride up some of the canals and told us the history of the place....

Then he took us back to civilization and  the town of Tigre.....

There are two trains that come into Tigre from Buenos Aires.....the regular train out of Retiro station, and the "tourist" train that goes along the water and fancy neighborhoods....we took the tourist train back and spied your art shot for today at the station in Flores....its a mural done by one of my drawing teachers, Sr. Ragazonni.....

For Paula's last meal in BA, we returned to my favorite Japanese restaurant on Independencia...their lunch is perfect food....

The Jacarandas are in bloom again.....they reminded me that it has now been exactly two years since I moved to BA and started this blog....and it seems like a good time to stop with entries ....I will be traveling back the long way for a visit in the USA....three weeks in Spain, 6 weeks in Thailand, then Oregon and California before returning back to Buenos Aires.  So, to all the viewers out there, I thank you for your attention and support, and would love it if you sent me some words or pics about how YOU have figured out how to spend your time on this planet..here is my email:  studiodio@yahoo.com
